Every day I lived in anxiety and stress.
My desire to be a good wife, successful entrepreneur, and create the life of my dreams was overshadowed by the kind of stress that clouds your confidence, ambition, and peace.
Struggling to find peace in my personal life and keep up with the self-imposed expectations of my professional life had me running a rat race with no end.
The worst part was the guilt. Always feeling as though I was never doing enough, and any breaks I took were undeserved.
15+ lbs. of weight gain and clumps of hair loss later I decided I deserved better, my family deserved better, and my future deserved a better head start. So I looked to what I knew, wellness.
Being a Massage Therapist since 2018 in the wellness industry has afforded me a intimate view of the way stress can overwhelm the mind and body. Throughout the hundreds of clients I’ve observed and worked with, the root cause of those stress-induced imbalances we often encounter are due to self-neglect:
It is so funny how difficult it can be to practice what you preach.
Women get stuck in these cycles of stress that build up until we breakdown and burnout.
“I’ll rest when I’m rich.”
“This is my dream, I’ve got to give it my all.”
“This is part of the sacrifice required for success.”
Entrepreneurship especially makes rest and wellbeing look like a guilty luxury that keeps you from achieving your goals. As though your worth is tied to how much you accomplish.
As the sole operator of my business, I am familiar with the ups and downs that come with the high achieving path of an entrepreneur while still balancing the personal responsibilities at home.
Once I began to invest in myself as much as I did my business, keeping holistic and sustainable wellness practices that aligned with my values at the forefront, positive change began to happen.
I reduced my reaction time to everyday stressors
I created systems that support my needs and safeguard my mindset.
I began to see improvement in my relationships and business outlooks.
Now, years later, self-investment has truly improved my life and my business for the better.
You can’t completely remove stress from life, but you CAN stop it from turning into burnout.
I created In-nested to help stressed female entrepreneurs struggling with stress create the systems and mindset needed to avoid burnout by investing in their themselves as they would their business, prioritizing wellness and rest as a sustainable strategy for personal and professional growth.
If you resonate with that journey I welcome you to join my newsletter from The Nest to receive bi-monthly tips and encouragement, and check out my blog and resource page for ways you can build a burnout-proof business that encourages personal and professional wellbeing.
